Turtle Bay
Posted September 21st, 2008 by Bob the Sea LionA 3km paved trail southwest from Puerto
Ayora takes you to Turtle Bay, a beautiful
white-sand beach good for swimming,
surfing or just sunbathing. A spit of land
provides protection for swimmers (there
are strong currents on the exposed side of
the spit) and you can see sharks, marine
iguanas, pelicans and the occasional flamingo.
There’s no drinking water or other
facilities. It’s about a half-hour walk from
the start of the path – often used by local
runners – where you must sign in (between
6am and 6pm).
